  • Tracing techniques to support accuracy and confidence in drawing

  • Exploring and applying a range of tones & mark-making techniques

  • Understanding and using highlights and shadows effectively

  • Creating bold marks inspired by the artist’s style

  • Learning about the artist and their creative approach

Vincent Van Gogh was a post-impressionist painter known for his bold use of colour, expressive brushwork, and textured, emotive compositions. He is especially celebrated for his vibrant landscapes, portraits, and still lifes, capturing the energy and emotion of his subjects.
The term will culminate in two finished artworks inspired by Van Gogh's approach to texture, mark-making and tone.
