Arts Award Discover is an introductory award that encourages children to explore the arts, try new creative activities, and share what they’ve learned, leading to a recognised certificate from Trinity College London.
What the Award Involves
To achieve Discover, young people:
Discover: try a new art activity, learn about different art forms and artists.
Create: make artwork in any chosen medium or art form.
Share: reflect on their journey and share their art discoveries.
The learner’s work is assessed by a trained Arts Award adviser, and may be moderated by Arts Award for quality assurance.
Recognition and Outcome
Level: Not regulated
Certificate: Learners receive a certificate from Trinity College London once their portfolio is approved.
Portfolio: The child’s artwork, reflections, and evidence of sharing are compiled into a portfolio that forms the assessment.
